Kalaburagi
Kalaburagi is known as the Tur bowl of Karnataka, contributing 40 % of the state’s production with most of the population engaged in agriculture here. The district also specializes in cement production and is recognized as a cement producing zone under Karnataka industrial policy 2009-14. Apart from tur, jowar, bajra and paddy also grow here and it cultivates a variety of fruits and flowers. Kalaburagi has immense scope for bio-fuel plantation and afforestation. Floriculture, aromatic and medicinal herbs are other thrust areas in the district. It also has a well-developed dairy industry in the cooperative sector under the banner of Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF).

Additional Projects
- A minor airport has been proposed in the district.
- SITP Textile Park has been sanctioned to Kalaburagi to be established at Nandur Kesaratagi industrial area at an estimated cost of INR 0.43 billion. Around 5000 to 10000 direct/indirect employment would be generated in the proposed textile parks.
- District boasts of a 106 acre Jewargi Agro Food park with specialized infrastructure facilities required for food processing and allied industry.
- Power Company of Karnataka Ltd (PCKL) has proposed a 1320 MW thermal power project in the district.
