Uttara Kannada
Nestled in beautiful scenic locales, Uttara Kannada is also home to one of India’s six atomic plants and a greenfield naval base project-Seabird. The coastal belt of Uttara Kannada also has one of Karnataka’s largest ports, Karwar, with a capacity of 75000 million tonnes liquid storage and 30000 MT warehousing. Government of Karnataka is keen on developing six berths under PPP here. The region also cultivates plantation crops like areca nut, coconut and cashew along with kokum. Large coastlines with suitable climatic conditions help the agro and horticulture products in the district. The rich biodiversity in the region is ideal for organic farming too. The other sectors flourishing here include Aromatic and Herbal Processing Industry, Tile, Coir, Engineering and Construction along with Fisheries.

Additional Projects
- Acquired 10 acres of land for medicinal plants and 40 acres to be acquired. Project cost 85 Crores (USD 14.16 mn).
- Development of Cashew Processing Units in the districts of INR 10 Crores. Land to be purchased 2 acres; land purchased 20 guntas (40 guntas is 1 acre).
- Land to be purchased 50 acres for dairy farming and milk processing. Investment INR 250 Crores (USD 41.67 mn).
- One acre land for building resort as part of Leisure Tourism; INR 3 crores investment.
- Investment of INR 40 Crores (USD 6.67 mn) for expansion of chemical industries in Binaga and Karwar for caustic soda and phosphoric acid production.
- Two acres of land purchased for marine food processing of INR 15 crores (USD 2.5 mn).
